"We often talk about how we speak. And often try to understand how we see it, but for some reason we rarely touch the question of how we touch."

LOMI KAHUNA BODYWORK/ HAWAIIAN MASSAGE ART
The meaning of the traditional Hawaiian bodywork, the LOMI, is a holistic treatment of body, mind and soul.
In Hawaii, LOMI was often an integral part of family life and also served as a ritual at the important transitions in life, performed by so-called kahunas, the masters.
The actual effect and healing always comes from the consciousness of the people themselves. From that of the practitioner and that of the person being treated.
It's about finding your own way of awakening this awareness within you. And this is where LOMI is invaluable. Through body awareness we get deeper into unconscious structures and behavioral patterns than with many much more complex procedures.
This is what makes LOMI so magical and people today just can't get enough of it.
PERSONAL WORDS
My life has included a lot of touch since childhood. That's how I experienced it, that's how I passed it on.
Demanding in terms of body work, I am also familiar with the Indian art of massage through my Ayurveda training. Indian baby massage is particularly important to me.
However, LOMI touched me unexpectedly deeply.
In the heart.
And I felt that this was an invitation in my life.
Over time I have gained a lot of experience, got to know different LOMI directions, met different teachers and people behind them. In the midst of this diversity, my own massage style became all the more personal.
I received permission to teach Lomi Lomi from Tamara Ho'okahi (Nā Pua 'Olohe).
A very warm and very brave woman who spent many years at Kahu Abraham's side.
What drives me to practice and pass on Lomi? Well, it's the happy, relaxed, and glowing people who get up from the massage table after a LOMI treatment. (That's why I jokingly call my studio one Firefly Manufactory .)
Osho once said: "The world needs massage because love has gone out of it."
I want to bring love back into this world.
